I've been making things by hand my whole life — quilting, stitching, spending quiet evenings with good fabric and a pattern that finally comes together.

For years, I looked for bags that felt the way I wanted to feel. Real. Unhurried. Made with care. What I kept finding online looked beautiful in the photo and arrived looking nothing like it. Flat. Thin. Printed on. A quiet little disappointment, every time.

So I started making my own.

Maple Stitches began at a kitchen table in Hay-on-Wye — a town that has always believed that beautiful, lasting things are worth making properly. That feels like the right place to start something like this.
